My Interests

Here are web sites I've created about my lifestyle - my hobbies, projects and other interests.

NOTE: Most of these web hosts have disapeared, some of these sites are archived and may not work in some browsers.

  • Cyberculture - Computers and the Net are the future.
    • My Ramblings - Some of my early ramblings on the Computer Age. (Note: this is my Gopherspace - IE users won't be able to see this. Try here for a Web version of some of my writings.)
    • Computer Taming - I have spent a large portion of my working life as a Computer Consultant.
    • Web Taming - I am still active as a Web Designer and Webmaster and on this site is a portfolio of some of the Web Sites I've designed.
    • FreeNetTools - I have used many free resources on the 'Net to create my Webs. Anyone can create a site with free tools downloaded from the 'Net.
    • COSGroup - The CocoaNuts Open Source Group is for people interested in using Open Source and Free Software on their computers for personal, academic, software development, or business.
      • CocoaNut BUG - The purpose of the CocoaNuts BSD User's Group (BUG) is to Promote and Educate about BSD Operating Systems; including FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD.
      • CocoaNut LUG - The CocoaNuts Linux User's Group (LUG) is an informal group of Linux users that share information on the Linux operating system and its application.

  • Sailing - I love sailing and cruising around in my Tanzer 7.5 sailboat!
    • Living The Cruising Life - Dutch Nirvana, is a Tanzer 7.5 sailboat and is my liveaboard home and means of transport for cruising around The Tropics.
    • Cruising Cocoa - Here's a site about my current anchorage and home port in Florida.
  • Travel - I enjoy travel and cruising aboard my boat. I have sailed the Caribbean Sea, the Sea of Cortez, the Gulf of Mexico, across the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea, and the Pacific on the West Coast and off Hawaii. I have hiked almost every major trail in the U.S. (including the Appalachian and Pacific Crest along with part of the Continental divide).
    • Island of Malta - The Island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
    • Living in Lake County - Here's an spot in Northern California I used to live, sail and hike in.
    • Baja del Norte - Baja California has been described as a "geographic anomaly," "the strangest land in the world," and as those who have visited this rugged and breathtakingly beautiful land know, there is no other place like it on earth.
    • Island of Kauai, Hawaii - I've spent some time in Hawaii on the "Garden Island" of Kaua'i.
    • New York's Capital District - With over 300 years of American history, the Capital District is one of the most historically exciting and culturally interesting areas of New York state.
    • Cruising Cocoa, Florida - Cocoa is a city located on four miles of the beautiful Indian River (part of the Intracoastal Waterway) in Brevard County Florida.

    • Documents Décoratif - The Art Nouveau style of Alphons Mucha is composed of charm and grace, delicacy and curves.
    • Origns of My Obsession - It all started when I picked up my first copy of Heavy Metal in a bookstore across from the movie theater on Santa Monica Boulevard in the Spring of 1977.
